Practical AI Strategy and Analytics Workshops for the Hospitality Industry
The Challenge
PURO Hotels is a Polish lifestyle hotel chain known for modern design, art, and distinctive guest experiences. The brand combines a comfortable stay with an inspiring atmosphere across shared spaces, restaurants, and cultural events. PURO hotels are located mainly in Poland’s largest cities, often in central areas close to key tourist and business destinations. One example is PURO Gdańsk Stare Miasto, a modern hotel located on Wyspa Spichrzów in the heart of Gdańsk, just a few steps from Długi Targ and the marina.
In the hospitality sector, the pace of technological change is high. Employees, regardless of their role, are increasingly exposed to generative AI tools in both their private and professional lives. PURO Gdańsk Stare Miasto approached Univio with the need to run a practical AI training session for employees from different departments, focused on using AI tools in everyday work.
- Equipping the team with practical skills for using artificial intelligence across different business areas;
- Explaining how language models work, from their real capabilities to their limitations;
- Addressing security, confidentiality, and responsible use of AI tools and technologies.
The Solution
- Univio delivered an on-site training session designed as a combination of theory and practice. The goal was to help participants first understand how artificial intelligence and GenAI tools work, and then practise using them in everyday tasks.
- In the theoretical section, we discussed the basics of GenAI and large language models (LLMs), their strengths and weaknesses, as well as the typical risks associated with their use and the need to verify the results.
- One of the key modules of the training focused on security and confidentiality. Participants learned about the differences between using GenAI in private and home settings, best practices for mitigating risks, and safe methods for creating prompts.
- The practical part included exercises using various GenAI tools. Participants worked on tasks related to text, multimedia, data, and presentation creation. The exercises were also adapted to the hotel context, making them easier to apply in daily work.
