In recent years, all technological solutions that streamline and at the same time accelerate the work of individual teams within companies have been highly valued by customers in the technology market. Taking into account customer interest and the search for innovative solutions for implemented services, the Univio team has developed a plugin connecting the Ergonode PIM system with Adobe InDesign, making work easier for marketing and DTP teams.
Thanks to the plugin, product data can be used in graphic design projects, such as product catalogs, without the need to manually transfer content between tools. The plugin acts as a bridge between the central repository of product information and the layout design environment. In practice, it enables current data stored in Ergonode PIM – such as product names, descriptions, attributes, or technical parameters – to be imported into InDesign and then used in the prepared materials. From the perspective of producing catalogs, leaflets, or product sheets, this primarily means greater consistency of information and easier maintenance of up-to-date content across multiple publications simultaneously.
“For customers, the greatest value of this integration is that InDesign starts working with the same, always up-to-date data that is stored in Ergonode PIM. Marketing and DTP teams no longer have to copy descriptions or parameters manually – they save time, reduce the number of corrections, and minimize the risk of errors. As a result, product materials are created faster, remain consistent across all publications, and updates to the product offering can be implemented almost immediately, without costly corrections in multiple files,” says Kamila Wiercińska, Project Manager PIM at Univio.
The solution designed by the Univio team fits well with the needs of companies that manage extensive product ranges and regularly publish product materials, as it allows them to scale their work and shorten the preparation cycle of final files for print or PDF distribution.
